Treehouse
My grandparents had a farm in Michigan. When I was a young girl, I climbed trees. My grandfather had an apple orchard, and he cut the lower branches off some of the trees to keep me from getting up into the most exciting trees. My soul still feels connected to that farm. I miss climbing trees.
My first serious drawings, when I was in the 6th grade, were of trees. I spent hours outside drawing trees. Now I’m fortunate enough to have my very own treehouse as a studio.
My artwork explores my love of nature and my feelings of interconnectedness with our planet. It’s our home.
